National Artist Kidlat Tahimik’s INDIO-GENIUS: 500 Taon ng Labanang Kultural (1521-2021) opened on October 22nd at the National Museum of Anthropology. Under the theme “Culture Matters: Embracing and Building the Philippines’ Creative Future”, the conference aims to: (2) encourage the evaluation and use of cultural statistics as tools for establishing data on the creative economy and measures of development; (3) enhance national and local government support for policies and legislation that will boost the Philippines’ cultural and creative sectors, especially the cultural and creative economy; (4) Motivate more research and research on culture and the arts towards building robust data resources for national policy-making and governance.

The Cultural Center of the Philippines will celebrate children with CCP Children’s Biennale 2022: BALANGÁW, a colorful multi-arts festival for children, from October 30 to November 20. It features interactive art installations, educational film and theater screenings, creative workshops, children’s book fairs and puppet shows under the themes of Culture (Culture), Kalikasan (Nature) and Kalinga (Nurture).
