HAMILTON, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–October 19, 2022–

iMFLUX today announced that its injection molding technology has been validated by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for three key sustainability benefits of the technology. UL Verification is an objective, science-based evaluation that confirms the accuracy of marketing claims. UL validates that “iMFLUX delivers up to 15% energy savings, up to 4% part weight reduction, and automatically adapts to his MFI material shift of ±52%.”

iMFLUX CEO Mary Wagner said:

The iMFLUX system consists of software, pressure sensors and a user interface that work with almost any injection molding machine, material or mold. iMFLUX’s adaptive process technology injects material into the mold at low constant pressure via a closed-loop feedback system. Turn on the iMFLUX and switch from high pressure separation processing to low constant pressure processing for immediate energy savings. The low constant pressure injection molding process fills the mold slowly, allowing the material to cool, densify, and fill as it fills, which also results in a lighter part.

Additionally, the iMFLUX system has an Auto Viscosity Adjust™ (AVA) feature. This feature allows the injection molding process to be seamlessly adjusted for any source of variation recognized by the pressure sensor. Without operator adjustments, the injection molding machine can automatically adapt to significant melt flow fluctuations and continue to produce high quality parts.
