As a further step in establishing itself as a global player in non-fiction as well as unscripted entertainment content, international production house The Mediapro Studio has signed an exclusive deal with Belgian Be-Entertainment to produce Spanish and Latin I made a format for America.
The agreement also allows The Mediapro Studio to develop non-fiction formats for VTM. VTM is the leading Flemish television channel that has been on the air for over 30 years. Like Be-Entertainment, VTM is owned by Belgian giant DPG Media.
TMS will become “the only production company that can exclusively adapt the distributor format to Spain and Latin America,” said a press release Monday morning.
TMS has already developed two Be-Entertainment titles, both for the Spanish market.
Created and produced by indie outfit Dedsit and successfully aired on Belgian television prime time on the Play4 channel, ‘The Musical of Your Life’ combines interviews and musical content to be loved and admired across the country. Each episode pays homage to a celebrity who is TMS and Be-Entertainment announced a deal for “The Musical of Your Life” format in April.
Recently acquired by TMS, in the format “The Big Job Switch,” five people embark on a life-changing social experiment through career transitions.
The TV formats produced after the new deal will be distributed globally in Spain and Latin America, where TMS boasts a strong infrastructure and a strong presence throughout the region.
“Be-Entertainment is a highly innovative and original program aimed at a wide audience thanks to its universal language for all audiences, very much in line with the style of MediaPro studio television programming. It’s the standard for non-fiction content delivery in a non-fiction format,” said Amparo Castellano, head of non-fiction content at TMS.
“For this reason, we believe it will be very well received by Spanish and Latin American audiences, as well as being able to adapt our format for Belgian audiences.”

The Mediapro Group’s content creation, production and distribution factory, Mediapro Studio, headquartered in Madrid, is rapidly becoming an important player in the international film and television content industry.
