The wait is over — the box car stage at Sawgrass Grove will see the first live band tonight. Known for playing hits from the 1970s and his 80s around The Villages, Penta will be playing today from 6pm until he’s 9pm. The couple said they were excited to see Sawgrass Grove nearly complete when they returned from spending the summer in Wisconsin.

The center’s schedule varies seasonally, unlike the town squares around the village.
“In terms of entertainment, we wanted to give Sawgrass Grove its own personality,” McCabe said.
Villagers have live entertainment on the Box Car Stage Wednesday through Friday from 6pm to 9pm, Saturday from 12pm to 3pm and 5pm to 9pm, and Sunday from 5pm to 8pm. You can have fun.
The center can also host special themed events, such as big games and tournament sports viewing opportunities, McCabe said.
He said villagers should keep an eye on the Villages Daily Sun and The Villages Entertainment pages on thevillagesentertainment.com for updates and information on special events and the official grand opening of Sawgrass Grove.
McCabe said live entertainment will continue at McGrady’s Pub Wednesday through Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. on the porch overlooking Southern Oaks.
The Market will no longer offer live entertainment, but entertainment from the Box Car Stage will be piped throughout the building.
Grove Bar, an open-air bar, is a new concept at The Villages, where guests can grab a drink on one side of the bar or sit on the other side to relax and watch games or watch live entertainment, McCabe said. you can have fun. .
Bar hours are Monday-Friday 3-9 PM, Saturday 11-9 PM, and Sunday 3-8 PM.
