Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) blends high school and college coursework, offering industry certifications and college hours toward an associate or bachelor’s degree, free to students and their families. Provide students with the opportunity to acquire
Industries selected for P-TECH are high-demand, high-paying jobs in the community. VISD’s P-TECHs are committed to providing a college- and work-based learning environment where students not only earn a high school diploma, but one or more of the following:

A complete prerequisite for admission to the Associate of Nursing program at the University of Victoria
VISD Healthcare P-TECH and Engineering P-TECH are housed at Victoria East High School. His P-TECH in Education and Training and his P-TECH in Computer Science are housed at Victoria West High School.
P-TECH Healthcare students at Victoria East High School will have the opportunity to learn about various medical careers and learn through hands-on experience. Students have the opportunity to earn an accredited nursing assistant certificate, meet the prerequisites for an associate’s degree in nursing at the University of Victoria, and earn college time towards an advanced degree.
P-TECH Engineering at Victoria East High School
In an increasingly complex world, it is vital that young people are prepared to bring the knowledge and skills to solve problems, understand information, and know how to gather and evaluate evidence to make decisions. It’s more important than ever. These are the types of skills students develop in their engineering pathways. Students have the opportunity to earn college time towards advanced degrees and industry-based accreditations that are in development with institutions of higher education partners.
P-TECH Computer Science Victoria West High School
Computer Science fosters creativity and innovation in students by providing opportunities to design, implement, and present meaningful programs through a variety of media. Students have the opportunity to earn college time towards an advanced degree and a Microsoft Technology Associate – Introduction to Programming with Java certification.
P-TECH Education and Training at Victoria West High School
Students enrolled in the Education and Training Pathway learn the principles of effective teaching and training. Students will have the opportunity to plan and implement instruction.
Students have the opportunity to earn the Teaching Aide I credential and spend college hours towards an advanced degree.
During the week of October 24-31, middle school students will have the opportunity to hear about the P-TECH program and what it offers in class. The Office of Innovation is a family event on November 14, 2022, hosting an event for parents and students to learn about their respective paths. you there! The P-TECH Interest Form opened on Monday and will remain available through December 6th. P-TECH is available to all VISD Year 8 students. There are 25 slots available per P-TECH program cohort. If more than 25 students sign up, the school district will use a lottery system to determine which students are selected for each of her P-TECH cohorts for 2023-2024. Participating students will be notified if selected. Parents are an integral part of the process and must show their support.
