It’s time for star-studded hoops in Tinseltown.
The Los Angeles Lakers have unsurprisingly held most of the spotlight in Los Angeles when it comes to basketball, but the LA Clippers are quietly trying to replace Arena Mate as LA’s hottest topic.
Kawhi Leonard returns to the team, rejoining running mate Paul George and newcomer John Wall to bolster a unit as complete as the league has to offer. The Clippers and their star-like duo have had high hopes for the preseason since joining the NBA.
As far as predictions are concerned, this year is no exception, but LA’s failed launch has been jarring among its fan base. It needs to win, and it needs to do so soon.Otherwise, owner Steve Ballmer’s massive splash against outside talent will wither without sap.
‘Uncontroversial’ co-host Skip Bayless lives up to the Clippers’ hype ahead of their preseason opener against the Lakers.

The Clippers enter the matchup as the 5.5-point favorites in this battle for Los Angeles. If Leonard and George can stay healthy, they will be picked to win more tilts than not win. However, the two need to be resourceful in order to achieve their main goal.
If one or both men exit at any point, the clip’s odds of winning drop significantly. With both available, teams won 73.8% (59-21) of their games, but only 62.1% with Leonard missing George (18-11) and just 58.5 with George solo. %(31-22). With both absent, the team falls below .500 and has a 46.9% (30-34) chance of winning.
As Leonard and PG go, so do the Clippers. They hope Thursday night will be the first of many wins leading up to his NBA Finals win, the organization’s first.
