The revived bullpen helped San Diego frustrate the Dodgers. Hometown native Joe Musgrove, who swept the Mets with his memorable wild card performance in the series, wins the ball against Dodgers’ Tyler his Anderson.

Phillies beat Braves in Game 4, advance to NLCS
The final team in the postseason is the first team in the championship series. The Philadelphia Phillies moved ahead by beating the defending World Series champions Atlanta Braves, 8-3, in Game 4, clinching the NLDS. The sixth-seeded Phillies will sweep out the second-seeded Braves in the first full season in which MLB’s playoff format allows six teams from each league. The Phillies finished 14 games behind him in the regular season against the Braves.
But it doesn’t matter now. Under manager Rob Thomson, who replaced Joe Girardi in June, the Phillies are 70-47, including explosive success to start this postseason. They eliminated his NL Central champion St. Louis Cardinals and the current NL East champion Braves.
The Phillies once again put the Braves in trouble with an early home run. It came from midseason trade acquisition Brandon Marsh, whose second three-run shot opened the scoring. In the 3rd inning, JT Real Muto struck an exclamation mark in the excitement of the early stage with a home run in the hall. Bryce Harper hit a home run in the eighth inning, his third in the postseason.
Atlanta may look back on this series as a streak of ill-fated pitching performances. In the three games they lost, Max Freed was sick, Spencer Stride was exhausted in the first game after returning from an oblique injury, and Charlie Morton was hit by a comebacker and sent off. It doesn’t change the fact that he hits and pounces on pitchers as well.
After a great start in Game 3 with ace Aaron Nola, the Phillies turned to a bullpen-centric approach in Game 4. .
Whoever wins the series between the Dodgers and Padres, the Phillies are going to meet them for Game 1 of the NLCS starting Tuesday.
