Tolis Mortgage Financial Group is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and it’s been quite a challenge. Like many, the 2007-2008 financial crisis rocked the up-and-coming mortgage company, forcing Art to close, but he still kept his mortgage license active. I was.
Art worked in banking during the Great Recession and was very busy locally, serving on the Fountain Hills Zoning Commission, chairing the Fountain Hills Realtors Marketing Session, and serving on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce. Over the years, Art served twice as president of the Rotary Club of Four Peaks and served on the town council for four years.
Reflecting on how his business has changed since 2002, Art says the entire real estate industry has changed and the demand for the services provided by Tolis Mortgage has changed. One such change he said is the rise in reverse mortgage interest rates.
“Reverse mortgages are a big shift from 2002 to now,” says Art. “They are becoming much more attractive to people who want the recurring income of being able to access that stock from home at no cost.”
